| Colt | SAA | .45 LC | Rare D.F.C. inspected SAA. Originally a "US" marked blue 7 1/2" .45 LC, this gun was a "buy back" from some state militia. Colt buffed off the "US" marking, stamped .45 cal on the trigger guard, applied a nickel finish, and sold it as a commercial gun. Kopec & Moore, in "Colt Cavalry and Artillery Revolvers" show other guns in this SN range similarly treated. John Kopec says he has records of guns close to this SN which were shipped w/ ivory grips. Unfortunately, grips on this gun, though the correct age, have been replaced. Colt was also known to have cut down some of the barrels on these resale guns, as well as some having been cut by "jobbers". The #'s on this 4 3/4" barrel match the frame, grip strap, trigger guard and cylinder - S# 613xx. Retains 65% original nickel finish. | $3,200. |
| Colt | SAA | .44-40 | Antique----"Frontier Six-Shooter". S# 1108xx. 4 3/4" w/ 40% original nickel finish and a faint but legible etched panel. Left grip is cracked, but fit is so tight there is no movement. Mechanically sound. Has Colt Letter. | $4,000. |
